Build a multi-service API docs portal at indie pricing

The Opportunity

Microservices teams face API doc fragmentation. Swagger ugly, Redoc limited, Postman expensive. Gap at $29-99/mo.

Original Signal

I'm building against 5 different APIs this week and I keep losing track of which docs are on which site. Algolia is at docs.algolia.com, Stripe is in their dashboard, Twilio has a whole separate portal. Just put it all in one place.

Score Breakdown

0/15
Demand0.0/5

How urgently people need this solved and how willing they are to pay for it. Based on complaint frequency and spending signals across platforms.

Market Gap0/5

How open the market is. A high score means few or no direct competitors, or existing solutions are overpriced and underdeliver.

Build Effort0/5

How quickly a solo developer can ship an MVP. 5 = weekend project with standard tools. 1 = months of infrastructure work.

Existing Solutions

DevDocs.io is excellent but only covers a curated set of popular APIs — you can't add your own. Dash is great for desktop but it's offline-only and the docset library is maintained by volunteers, so newer or indie APIs aren't covered.

Willingness to Pay

Developers who regularly work across 5+ APIs would pay $8–$12/mo for a web-based docs aggregator that lets them add any API and search across all of them at once.
